Der Muttertag ist ein Festtag zu Ehren der Mütter, der auf der ganzen Welt gefeiert wird. Es gibt allerdings kein weltweit einheitliches für den Muttertag. Der am meisten verbreitete Termin ist der zweite Sonntag im Mai. Der Muttertag 2017 fällt in diesem Fall also auf Sonntag, den 14. Mai 2017. An diesem Datum wird auch in Deutschland, Österreich, Liechtenstein und der Schweiz der Muttertag begangen.

Wann ist Muttertag 2017?*

Der Muttertag 2017 wird weltweit an verschiedensten Daten gefeiert. Daher lässt sich die Frage "Wann ist Muttertag 2017?" nicht pauschal beantworten. In Deutschland, Österreich, Liechtenstein und der Schweiz gilt als Muttertag jedenfalls immer der zweite Sonntag im Mai. Im Jahr 2017 ist das Sonntag, der 14. Mai 2017. Dieses Datum für den Muttertag 2017 gilt auch in sehr vielen anderen Ländern der Welt.

Andy was in Singapore over Mother’s Day, so we celebrated a weekend early, before he left.

We celebrated with dinner instead of the more traditional brunch, but I still got a mixed drink. This was way stronger than the mimosa I probably would have gotten otherwise!

Then… later… Andy actually left and it was Mother’s Day for real. We were supposed to have beautiful weather, so I planned to spend the morning at the zoo.

Ziggy regularly wakes Andy up in the 5 AM hour wanting food and to be taken out.

She let me sleep in until 7:15!

Once everyone was up and dressed, G and I headed to Union Diner for an American-style breakfast.

Then I grabbed an iced chai from Starbucks and we set off for the zoo.

The baby snow leopards from last year aren’t so baby anymore.

(Sad but true that such cute babies have to grow up.)

When we were done at the zoo, we headed home for nap and we all napped. That’s the best!

After nap time, we headed to McDonald’s. (I know, I know.) Ronald McDonald was going to be at the McDonald’s near Badischer Bahnhof, the German train station, and I thought that would be a fun thing to do with part of our afternoon.

We had ice cream at McDonald’s and then I made mac & cheese for dinner that night. Was it an exceptionally healthy day? No. But it was a fun day with my best girl and only could have been better if Andy had been with us.

I love everything about your Mothers Day(s) — I love the treats you indulged in with your girl and all of the sweetness about the day. And I have never heard of proseco with limoncello but, yes please!

I hadn’t ever heard of that combination before, either, and had to try it when I saw it on the menu! It was definitely delicious and definitely strong.

I am totally jealous of your Mother’s Day crafts – I can’t wait until my lass is old enough to make hideous macaroni jewellery for me to wear (I say that now…!). Looks like you had a lovely double celebration!
